From Mouser these are the parts I ordered with a link to the part page (if no qty listed, only 1 is needed):
- 10k Potentiometer
- Dial for Potentiometer
- On/Off Toggle Switch
- L298 Driver
- Heat Sink
- 28 Pin DIP Socket
- 16Mhz Crystal
- 5V Regulator
- 1N4004 Rectifier qty 4
- 22pF Capacitor qty 2
- 0.1uF Capacitor qty 3
- 10uF Capacitor qty 2
- 100uF Capacitor

- 2.5 mm DC Power Connector
From All Electronics:
Total not including shipping $9.75.
From SparkFun:
- Mini Push Button Switch
- Arduino Uno R3 - This is a whole board with the ATmega328 in it. I got this to make programing easier. If you have a way to program just the ATmega328 buy all means buy just that as it's price is only $5.50.
- USB A to B cord - Again if you already have one, don't feel like you need to get one.
From Ebay:
- 12V 5A Power Adapter - Any 12V 5A 2,5mm power adapter will work. This is just one I found.
From Radio Shack (I went to the on down the street but this is also availble on the website)
- 2 Sided Copper Clad PC Board $4.49
Total for all those parts $70.88.
Prices are current as of May 23, 2014.
If you are using this as a guide please wait till I have finished building everything, in case there are any kinks to be worked out. I would hate for someone to follow along as I am building only to find out there are changes.
Thank you! Next post will be all about making the circuit board.
